The California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee, representing more than 86,000 members, today announced their support of Democrat Monique Limón for the 37th Assembly District. Limón, a member of the Santa Barbara Unified School District Board, is running for the 37th State
Assembly District, which straddles Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties and is currently represented by Assemblymember Das Williams. “The California Nurses Association supports Monique Limón because she puts the health of the people first,” said CNA RN Co-President, Malinda Markowitz. “Nurses know they can count on Limón to stand up to Sacramento special interests. She supports protecting hospital patients’ by enforcing nurse-to-patient ratios, and we will work with her to make sure ALL Californians have quality health care,” Markowitz concluded.
“I’m honored to be supported by the California Nurses Association, and look forward to working with them to ensure quality health care for ALL,” Limón said.
Limón is also supported by Assemblymember Das Williams, State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson, the California Womenʼs Legislative Caucus, and women leaders from across the district, including Santa Barbara County Supervisors Janet Wolf, Doreen Farr and Susan Rose (ret.), Goleta Mayor Paula Perrote, Santa Barbara Mayor Helene Schneider, Oxnard Mayor Pro Tem Carmen Ramirez, and former Santa Paula Mayor Laura Espinoza, among many others.
